Covid Flowers

My art embraces both spontaneity and an accidental process. I seldom start with any concept of where I will end. I clear my mind and start drawing lines and shapes and as it progresses things appear to me which then are added and clarified, but often with an effort to allow many interpretations for the myriad parts within the whole.

Using marker on paper I consider most of my work cosmic doodles. I’m fascinated by how creativity springs out of nothingness. Though some of my work does come from the emotion of the moment I have never considered any ability to evoke the same emotions in a viewer. Like meditation on sublime writing I hope viewers will each respond with some kind of internal understanding in response to the mixtures of line and color. Much of what I do is “hide” a wide variety of pieces which are discovered with time.
