Greg the Clown

While living in Ahmedabad, India I started performing as a clown for kids with cancer.

About Me

I’ve been a dreamer since childhood. I looked at the world and couldn’t understand why we weren’t doing better as a species. At the age of 10 I decided he wanted to President of the United States thinking I was going to end war, poverty and inequality. At 16 I ran for Governor at Boys State, studied politics at UC Davis and debate at Harvard. The next year I was part of making American history, as one of five committee chairs from one hundred Convention II delegates, as only the second group in US history, other than Congress, to debate on the floor of the House of Representatives. During my first year at the University of Southern California I started what would become the largest student political organization to that point in USC’s history. I worked extensively with a presidential candidate and became disillusioned with the political process which seemed to me was more about power and money than solving problems.

My MA is in English/Creative Writing with an emphasis in Playwriting. I’ve written/directed an indie feature, an animation/live-action TV pilot and a variety of other smaller media projects. I’m the author of various works, some published, some not, including two novels, various scripts for film, TV and theater, songs, poetry and articles. I’ve traveled the world visiting over 40 countries and lived for extended period in several vastly different cultures which is key to my view that we Homo Sapiens have much more in common than our differences.

Over the past 25 years I’ve dreamed of creating a platform to bring young people of the world together for cooperative and collaborative experiences convinced this is the way to break down the barriers of the past and create a peaceful and fair world. My project Zarbul aims to bring K-12 education into a 3D game universe, on 2D screens, to make learning fun and empowering.

My ideas about education were solidified when my daughter started Unschooling at the age of twelve and he extensively studied alternative forms of education. He has taught at a two-year college and a variety of workshops around the world. In January 2022 I was honored by the Prime Minister of India as part of the 75th Republic Day for my “…work in visual media and using it to create a better world…” I’m also a TEDx speaker and featured SME for IBM’s Project Management course on Coursera.
